Feeling lightheaded

Day 351/365 ~ You Are Who You Are, and Nobody Can Ever Change ThatDay 258/365 ~ And I'm Starting to Dream, Changing Colours While I Sleep; Maybe I'm Just Wasting TimeDay 304/365 ~ There is a Time for Departure Even When There's No Certain Place to Go

Everyone has their limits, even me. Sometimes I just need a little breather from society. A place to escape, like my very own Wonderland. While a place like that doesn't exist in real life, pictures I tend to find relief through pictures. Once in a while, I like to let photos speak for themselves. I ponder the question, "If they were all connected, what kind of story would they tell?" Then I start putting the pieces together, one by one. In the end, this is what I see:

There is a young girl named Flora. At 16 years of age, her parents have set her up for an arranged marriage to wealthy nobleman. She has never met this person, nor does she want to meet him. She has enjoyed her freedom & she wishes not to be tied down by this stranger, but what is she to do? She does not want to defy her parents because she loves them very much, but at the same time, she knows once she is married, she will no longer be able to go about as she pleases.

She goes to where she knows she can be by herself, a grassy meadow just on the outskirts of her town. She lies down & looks up at the azure sky. She closes her eyes & imagines that she's a bird flying high above the clouds. How she envies birds. They can go anywhere they want. She stretches out her arms, pretending they're wings, as she soars into the horizon. As she opens her eyes, she lets out a sigh. She knows time is running out.

She takes out the silver pocket watch her deceased grandmother had given to her as a child. As she runs her fingers along its edges, she begins to cry. In 3 days, it'll all be over. In 3 days, she will no longer be herself. In 3 days... in 3 days... she repeats in her mind as she drifts off to sleep.

It's a funny thing, really. I assume this is not something most people do. Maybe I'm just very imaginative, I don't know. But at least I'm able to express my creativity this way. Now I'm curious. I would like to leave the task to you, dear readers. What story do you see before you in these pictures I have here? I'd love to know.

xoxo, Oleah
